GRACILIOXYURIS AGILISIS N.G., N.SP.(NEMATODA: OXYURIDAE) FROM GRACILINANUS AGILIS (MARSUPIALIA:DIDELPHIDAE) IN BRAZIL.

Description of Gracilioxyuris agilisis n.g.,n.sp. recovered from the ceacum of Gracilinanus agilis Burmeister, 1854 (Gardner, 2005) (MAMMALIA: DIDELPHIDAE) in Brazilian Pantanal. The new species can be distinguished from his closest pinworm of South America marsupials Didelphoxiurys thylamisis by dome shaped anterior end, a weakly developed cephalic vesicle, males with no postcloacal ornamentation and operculate eggs with 3 longitudinal ridges. Gracilioxyuris n.g.is characterized by an oral opening small and apical and double crested lateral alae. Males possesses an area rugosa as a ventral keel-like elevation with transverse striations, 4 pairs of genital papillae; first and second pairs adanal, third pair minute, just posterior to cloacal aperture; last pair at caudal end and no tail tip. Females, possess a thick muscular vagina, genital tract didelphic and operculated eggs with ridges.
